    The Senior Analyst, Regulatory Affairs is responsible for compliance oversight of DeVry University’s (DVU) student financial aid programs, including but not limited to VA education benefits, Department of Defense (DoD) tuition assistance, Federal Student Aid, state grants, and student lending. The Senior Analyst is responsible for working with DVU regulatory counsel to interpret statutes, regulations and administrative rules of various issuing bodies and develop controls and processes to assure compliance with those rules. The senior analyst will serve as a liaison to operations, campuses, and appropriate regulatory entities for the implementation, update and communication of all program changes.




    • Works with colleagues in all functional areas to ensure compliance with statutes, rules and regulations governing student financial aid programs in which DeVry University participates.
    • Works with colleagues in all functional areas to ensure processes, procedures, internal and external reporting, materials and communications are developed in compliance with federal, state and internal standards and regulations.
    • Represents the organization in professional organizations and with government entities.
    • Represents Regulatory Affairs in institution meetings; provides regulatory guidance and recommendations for organizational programs and initiatives.
    • Designs controls in high-risk areas to mitigate non-compliance and general risk exposure.
    • Provides information and guidance on regulatory requirements and internal policies.
    • Prepares and delivers presentations to senior management.
    • Assists Regulatory Affairs leadership with escalated questions and projects as assigned; acts as a delegate for leadership in their absence.
    • Analyzes new and amended state and federal regulations and requirements in conjunction with DVU regulatory counsel to determine organizational impact.
    • Develops, implements, and maintains the organization's written compliance policies and procedures related to VA education benefits, Department of Defense tuition assistance and other government funding programs to ensure requirements remain observant to all current federal and state, regulations and internal standards.
    • Ensures that corrections in the areas of non-compliance are made timely and accurately; escalates unresolved items to leadership as needed.
    • Works on specialized assignments such as file reviews, research assignments, report development, data analysis, regulation monitoring and analysis, and review and approval marketing material content related to VA and DoD programs.
    • Trains colleagues and external partners on compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Completes other duties as assigned.

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Knowledge of VA and DOD education benefits administration and regulations.
    • Knowledge of Title IV Federal Student Aid program administration and regulations.
    • At least 4 years of experience in a federal/state regulated environment. Experience in higher education regulatory compliance preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to take charge, collaborate and communicate with others at all levels across a wide variety of team.
    • Ability to thrive in a fluid and fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess potential for risk and opportunity and develop and implement solutions focused on accomplishing DVU’s goals.
    • Can research and interpret federal and state regulations, rules and guidance.
    • Can demonstrate a consistently great work ethic in a high productivity environment.
    • Can travel up to 15%.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and internet applications.
    • Writing samples required.
