Opportunity at a Glance

The primary responsibility of the position is to directly or indirectly manage campus level Student Finance leaders and advisors, following all accreditation, state, veterans, Title IV, and Tribal compliance rules and regulations. Additionally provides national support and direction to the Carrington Student Services team. 

 

Must have recent and direct experience in student financial aid in higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all student finance activities to maximum efficiency at all assigned locations.
  • Provides leadership, training and development to all campus student finance teams in designated region.
  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communication throughout all assigned campuses. Aligns with campus leadership teams and other functional leadership to ensure positive outcomes for students.
  • Ensures that all colleagues know and understand their responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities.
  • Serves as first point of escalation and subject matter expert for Campus Student Finance Directors.
  • Responsible for maintaining acceptable performance standards related to key areas; student finance legislation, internal policy adherence, external audits, internal audits,
  • Provides senior management with accurate and timely information about student finance results on a continuing basis so as to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Regularly audit campus leaders and locations for compliance with policies, regulatory and disclosure requirements for effective administration of all federal and state funding to students.
  • Oversee the administration and collection of student accounts across assigned campuses.
  • Identifies and executes on organizational and functional best practices to grow and expand student finance activities in order to support increased enrollments.
  • Direct and advise student finance, campus leadership, and home office colleagues in the handling of student issues.
  • Keep current on Title IV regulations, 3rd party payment agreements, and Veterans benefits.
  • Review and analyze various reports to identify areas of opportunity
  • Assist in new report creation and system/process enhancements to gain greater efficiencies and to better support student finance operations.
  • Demonstrate and foster a culture of CARE when working with staff, applicants, students and alumni.
  • Serves on committees, task forces and advisory groups as appropriate.
  • Assists the Director of Student Finance Operations and Sr. Director of Student Services in developing and implementing short-term and long-term strategic plans to achieve desired organizational goals, consistent with the mission, vision and values of Carrington College.

Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Title IV Regulations preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills along with written and verbal communication skills required. 
  • Ability to work in a proactive student finance environment.
