Opportunity at a Glance

The Internship Advisor advises students regarding career issues and strategies, job search methods, resume preparation, internships and related matters. Responsible for steering students of DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management. to appropriate internship employment leads and events. This position will ensure a high level of service and care to current students to assist them with achieving their internship employment needs. The role works with the Career Services team to ensure the department has an adequate amount of employer relationships that foster internship opportunities for students. The Internship Advisor reports to the Manager, Internships.

Responsibilities

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops strategies for building employer relationships and achieving student internship employment outcomes through high level of service.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and administration remotely to create policy and procedures for ensuring the academic quality and integrity of internships.
  • Facilitate student learning by assisting students to secure appropriate internships to enhance overall academic experience and learn skills essential to conduct a successful job search.
  • Conducts individual and group career advising sessions remotely with both the undergraduate and graduate school students.
  • Advises students on career development, job seeking skills and industry trends in order to effectively prepare them to gain employment upon graduation through internship experience. 
  • Provides ongoing feedback to students with respect to individual job search skills.
  • Develops remote activities and events for students to attend to connect the student with information, resources, and employers.
  • Collaborates with DeVryWORKS colleagues, as well as, other internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional service to students and employers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely; experience in a regulated environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in post-secondary education, Career Services, staffing, human resources and/or recruiting.
