Opportunity at a Glance

As a Data Science Solution Architect you are responsible for designing, developing, testing, tuning and deploying solutions in support of the company’s enterprise data warehouse and operational data stores. You will work closely with business partners, ETL developers, report developers, and other solution architects to deliver enhancements and new functionality consistent with project deadlines and service level agreements. You will utilize your combination of business acumen, technical skills and people skills to help define, guide, and implement data warehousing strategy.


  • Build data models to address business problems
  • Lead and contribute to qualitative and quantitative research analysis identifying key insights from stakeholder data.
  • Design data warehouse schema and define Extract/Translate/Load (ETL) processes for the data warehouse
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis from complex, disparate data sources for recognize patterns, and identify opportunities to drive student outcomes.
  • Provide direction for diverse and complex initiatives and be accountable for a variety of tasks to architect and deliver data warehousing solutions
  • Intake and drive projects from conception to completion with minimal guidance
  • Work with business partners to understand the business requirements and business processes
  • Provide proactive recommendations for improving the performance and operability of the data warehouse and reporting environment
  • Participate in the development and championing of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data discovery, database design and implementation
  • Leverage analytical software and tools to create compelling and predictive data driven business recommendations
  • Develop machine learning models to apply test data algorithms to future data.
  • Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional business partners to identify gaps and structure problems
  • Serve as resident data expert and share best practices/approaches for statistics, machine learning techniques, data modeling, and simulation.
  • Provide assistance to data warehouse team members with issues requiring technical expertise or knowledge of complex systems and/or programming
  • Provide on the job training for new or less experienced team members
  • Provide day to day support for the data warehouse environment
  • Completes other duties as assigned.


  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar fields
  • 5+ years of data warehouse design and development as an ETL architect, data warehouse developer, data warehouse architect or a similar role
  • Experience building and deploying predictive models.
  • Experience working with big data distributed programming languages, and ecosystems (e.g. S3, EC2, Hadoop/MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Spark, etc.)
  • Deploy data science solutions: Java, Python, C++
  • Experience with Machine Learning algorithms.
  • Full stack experience in data collection, aggregation, analysis, visualization, and monitoring of data science products
  • Proven knowledge of SQL and an understanding of database structures enabling research and discovery
  • Proven experience in dimensional data modeling (such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models) and handling slowly changing dimensions and attributes
  • In depth knowledge of relational databases structures and design – experience with Oracle 10g and higher preferred
  • Proven track record delivering successful data science projects and working with global teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Outstanding verbal, written and visual presentation skills
  • Proven consensus building abilities
  • Ability to work independently, establishing objectives, project plans, and milestone goals
  • Experience providing practical direction on information and analytics platforms in conjunction with data warehouse tools and technologies
  • Experience analyzing complex source systems and data structures
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and work in a fast paced environment
